LCG, June 10, 2026--Calpine, a business unit of Constellation, announced early this week the completion of a 25 MW expansion project at The Geysers geothermal complex located in Sonoma County, California. The addition builds on Calpine's continued investments in The Geysers to support California's renewable energy goals and to provide reliable, around-the-clock renewable power as the demand for clean electricity continues to grow.

NRC Okays Indian Point 3, Fitzpatrick License Transfers
LCG, Nov. 13, 2000--The Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Friday its staff has approved the transfer of the operating licenses for the Indian Point 3 and James A. FitzPatrick nuclear power plants to subsidiaries of Entergy Corp. Both licenses had been held by the Power Authority of the State of New York.The technical staff's approval becomes effective immediately but, if the commission decides to grant a hearing and rules in favor of any of the petitioners, it could rescind the license transfer approval or modify its terms.Entergy asked the agency in May to approve the license transfers. Since then, the NRC has received hearing requests from municipalities that purchase power from these utilities, from labor unions, and from a public interest group. Commission review of these requests, which include issues such as decommissioning funding, is pending.The 965 megawatt Indian Point 3 plant is located in Buchanan, N.Y., about 24 miles north of New York City. Last Thursday, Consolidated Edison Co. of New York agreed to sell the 975 megawatt Indian Point 2 plant at the same site to Entergy, along with the mothballed Indian Point 1. The 780 megawatt James A. FitzPatrick plant is located in the town of Scriba, about eight miles northeast of Oswego, N.Y.Entergy owns and operates six nuclear reactors at five sites and is also handling the decommissioning of Maine Yankee and Millstone Unit 1.
