Construction Starts on Roseville Energy Park

LCG, June 8, 2005--The City of Roseville held the ground breaking ceremony on June 2 for its Roseville Energy Park, a 160-MW project that is located near the Northern California city of Roseville. The plant was approved by the California Energy Commission in April and is scheduled to commence commercial operations by late 2007.

The City of Roseville is developing the local generation to meet its growing demand for electricity. The natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power plant will be located adjacent to the Pleasant Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant and will use reclaimed water for cooling. The current, estimated cost of the facility is $170 million.
