LCG, June 9, 2026--EDP Renewables North America LLC (EDPR NA) and Salt River Project (SRP), a not for-profit public power utility serving central Arizona, today announced the completion of the Flatland Energy Storage project, located in Coolidge, Arizona. The new battery energy storage system (BESS) has a generating capacity of 200 MW and can provide 800 MWh of storage capacity to store energy during times of surplus supply and deliver power to customers when needed to meet peak periods of customer demand.

Microsoft and Avangrid Sign PPA for Bluebird Solar Project in Washington State
LCG, May 27, 2026--Avangrid, Inc., a member of the Iberdrola Group, today announced the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Microsoft for the 140 MWdc (100 MWac) Bluebird Solar project in Klickitat County, Washington. Bluebird is located near four other energy projects owned and operated by Avangrid in Klickitat County and represents another $300 million investment in the community. The Bluebird Solar project is expected to achieve commercial operation in 2028.
Avangrid's CEO said, "Bluebird Solar builds on our longstanding commitment to energy development and operations in Washington, bringing meaningful economic benefits to Klickitat County. We are proud to have built a strong relationship with Microsoft to help them meet their energy needs while investing in the communities where we operate. This adds to Avangrid's strong track record of developing projects to help meet growing energy demands from the world's leading technology companies."
Avangrid states that the Bluebird Solar project is the fourth U.S. energy project under contract between Avangrid and Microsoft. Other executed contracts are PPAs for Powell Creek Solar in Ohio and Camino Solar in California, both of which began commercial operation in 2025, and Juniper Canyon Wind in Washington, which is expected to begin commercial operation this year. Including Bluebird, Avangrid and Microsoft now have more than 500 MW of energy capacity under contract in the U.S.
In total, Avangrid operates over 11 GW of installed capacity located at nearly 100 projects spread across 25 states.
