LCG, June 9, 2026--EDP Renewables North America LLC (EDPR NA) and Salt River Project (SRP), a not for-profit public power utility serving central Arizona, today announced the completion of the Flatland Energy Storage project, located in Coolidge, Arizona. The new battery energy storage system (BESS) has a generating capacity of 200 MW and can provide 800 MWh of storage capacity to store energy during times of surplus supply and deliver power to customers when needed to meet peak periods of customer demand.

FPL Energy Plans Wind Project for North Dakota
LCG, January 18, 2008--The North Dakota Public Service Commission was notified earlier this week of FPL Energy's Barnes County wind farm project. The project will include 133 wind turbines and have an elecric generating capacity of approximately 200 MW.
FPL Energy stated to the Commission that it plans to file a formal permit application by February 5 with the Public Service Commission.
FPL Energy's project is one example of the surge in wind power in the United States. According to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), the installed U.S. wind power capacity grew forty-five percent last year. In 2007, the industry installed 5,244 MW of new wind generation. U.S. wind power capacity now totals 16,818 MW, and AWEA estimates wind generation in 2008 will be 48,000 GWh.
