LCG, June 9, 2026--EDP Renewables North America LLC (EDPR NA) and Salt River Project (SRP), a not for-profit public power utility serving central Arizona, today announced the completion of the Flatland Energy Storage project, located in Coolidge, Arizona. The new battery energy storage system (BESS) has a generating capacity of 200 MW and can provide 800 MWh of storage capacity to store energy during times of surplus supply and deliver power to customers when needed to meet peak periods of customer demand.

Cape Wind Project Secures $600 Million in Financing
LCG, March 5, 2014--Cape Wind announced last week that it has secured $600 million in financing for its proposed $2.5 billion wind power farm off the Massachusetts coast. Danish export credit agency EKF approved the loan pending due diligence, and the new loan is the project's largest so far.
By the end of the third quarter, Cape Wind anticipates that the remaining financing will be secured. Initial operations and generation could commence as soon as 2016.
The 468-MW Cape Wind project will include 130, 3.6-MW wind turbines located in Nantucket Sound, Massachusetts. The offshore wind farm will connect to the power grid via a 66.5-mile, buried submarine transmission cable system.
The project developer has pursued government approval since 2001 and completed State and local permitting in 2009.
In December 2013, Siemens and Cape Wind signed a major contract in which Siemens will supply Cape Wind its 3.6-MW offshore wind turbines, an offshore Electric Service Platform (ESP) and a service agreement for the first 15 years of commercial operations.
