Origis Energy Announces Agreement with Meta for Greyhound A Solar Project in West Texas
LCG, January 15, 2026--Origis Energy today announced that Meta and the company signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 240-MW (303-MWdc) Greyhound A Solar project in West Odessa, Texas. The Greyhound A Solar project is scheduled to achieve commercial operations by mid-2026.
Origis Energy's Chief Executive Officer stated, "This agreement is a testament to Meta's leadership and their unprecedented U.S. investments. We are proud to support their growth trajectory, and to partner with them in building competitive and enduring American energy infrastructure."
Meta's Director of Global Energy said, "We are thrilled to partner with Origis Energy and bring an additional 240 MW of solar energy to the local grid. With this collaboration, we are continuing to match 100 percent of our electricity use with clean energy to support our data center operations."
The Greyhound A partnership between Origis Energy and Meta joins a larger energy infrastructure complex in West Texas that includes approximately 1 GW of fully subscribed solar capacity of which about 500 MW is already operational, with the remainder coming online in 2026.
In addition to the 1 GW of fully subscribed solar capacity, Origis is developing more than 1 GW solar and battery storage, creating a more than 2 GW energy complex to be fully operational by 2029. Collectively, these projects will represent approximately $2.5 billion in infrastructure investments in Ector County and West Texas.
Earlier this week, Origis also announced the completion of the Whistling Duck Solar Energy Center, which is supplying nearly 75 MWac of solar electricity to four Florida communities: Homestead, Key West, Lake Worth Beach and Winter Park. Located in Levy County near Williston, Florida, the Whistling Duck Solar Energy Center supports Florida Municipal Power Agency's (FMPA) participation in affordable solar energy generation for its member utilities. The project achieved commercial operation in December 2025.
