OG&E and Google Announce Contract for Three Data Centers in Oklahoma

LCG, April 30, 2026--OG&E, the operating subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp., announced today that it will power three new data centers that Google announced in Muskogee and Stillwater, Oklahoma last year. As part of the agreement, Google will also make power generation capacity available from two solar facilities in Stephens and Muskogee Counties that are currently under construction. The data centers and associated Electric Service Agreements are expected to provide economic growth for local communities and the state, contribute to grid stability, and benefit OG&E's current customers.

Graphic Packaging and NextEra Energy Resources Sign 250-MW Virtual Power Purchase Agreement

LCG, April 29, 2026--Graphic Packaging Holding Company today announced a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with NextEra Energy Resources, LLC. With the VPPA agreement, NextEra Energy Resources plans to build the Selenite Springs Energy Center, a 250-MW solar energy facility in West Texas, and Graphic Packaging will be the sole buyer of the facility's renewable energy attribute certificates. Graphic Packaging, a global provider of sustainable consumer packaging, expects the agreement to cover approximately 43 percent of its 2025 electricity usage in the U.S. and Canada. The agreement will advance Graphic Packaging's commitment to source renewable electricity and reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Cinergy Invests in e-Biz Firm

LCG, July 6, 2000--Cinergy Corp. of Cincinnati said this morning that it would buy in two phases about 5 percent of the common stock in an e-business firm named Convergent Group. The first phase will be an investment of $10 million for an undisclosed number of shares in the dot-com company.A second phase will take place when Convergent goes public. At the time of its initial public offering, Cinergy will acquire the balance of its 5 percent stake at a discount to the IPO price.In addition, Cinergy has hired convergent to co-develop and put into effect a multi-tiered program focusing on customer service through which Cinergy will use the Internet to more effectively compete in the changing marketplace for energy.James Rogers, chief executive of Cinergy, said This strategic alliance will move us forward in creating the digital energy company of the future. Our equity investment in Convergent is an indication of our confidence in their business model, based on first-hand successes, and out commitment to investing in technology that reshapes our business.Rogers added that his vision is for a customer to be able to place a service request and have it transacted on-line without a human hand touching it of a human eye looking at it.We will try that the next time we need the gas man to come out an light a pilot light.
