LCG, August 27, 2025--Wärtsilä Energy announced yesterday an agreement with East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to supply the engineering and equipment for a 217-MW power plant to be constructed in Liberty, Kentucky. The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery in mid-2027, and the plant is expected to be commissioned in early 2028.

Williams May Expand California Gas Pipeline
LCG, March 13, 2001The Williams Cos. said yesterdayit was considering expanding the capacity of its Kern River Transmission System in California. The company said it would solicit bids to add 135 million cubic feet per day of capacity to the natural gas pipeline.Williams said it would decide by April 2 whether to go ahead with the expansion, which it figures will cost $81 million. The company said the project hinges on whether all permits and licenses can be obtained by that time and whether there is sufficient commercial interest in the added capacity.The project would add compressor stations to Kern River's 922-mile system, which currently has a daily throughput of around 700 million cubic feet per day.
