LCG, October 2, 2026--We Energies, a subsidiary of Milwaukee-based WEC Energy Group, and Oracle today announced an agreement that would allow Oracle to "subscribe" to between 10 percent and 20 percent of the Point Beach Nuclear Plant’s electricity generation. Oracle will provide the carbon-free energy to Project Lighthouse, the data center campus in Port Washington that Oracle is co-developing with artificial intelligence firm OpenAI.

Construction Begins on 2,300 Megawatt Arizona Plant
LCG, May 24, 2001--TECO Power Services Corp. and Panda Energy International Inc. announced jointly this morning that they have begun initial construction and site preparation work on their 2,300 megawatt Gila River power station in Gila Bend, Ariz.The big plant will be brought on line in four phases, the joint venture said, without revealing the size or timing of the phases. The companies did say that the natural gas-fueled plant would begin commercial operation in the summer of 2003.Michael Schuyler, a TECO official, said the facility "will be one of the largest facilities in our generating portfolio. We look forward to providing needed energy to the fast-growing region of thecountry it will serve."The companies said power from Gila River will be sold into the Arizona wholesale electricity market with excess output available to wholesale customers in California, Nevada and New Mexico.TECO Power Services is an affiliate of Florida utility Tampa Electric Co.
