LCG, August 27, 2025--Wärtsilä Energy announced yesterday an agreement with East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to supply the engineering and equipment for a 217-MW power plant to be constructed in Liberty, Kentucky. The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery in mid-2027, and the plant is expected to be commissioned in early 2028.

The MOU establishes a shared commitment to support advanced nuclear technologies to build Utah’s energy future and to prioritize reliability, economic growth and energy abundance.

Ashburn recently retired as vice president of H-P and general manager of H-P Services, a 28,000-employee unit that provides consulting, outsourcing,education and support to H-P customers.Charles Attal III has been elected to the newly created position of vice president anddeputy general counsel by Teco Energy Inc.Robert D. Kelly has been appointed president of Calpine Finance Co., responsible for the management of corporate and project financing activities for Calpine Corp.. He also serves as senior vice president of the parent company.Thomas Knudsen, who for the past sixteen months has been interim chief financial officer of Philadelphia Gas Works, has been selected to be interim chief executive and president following the resignation from that post of Kumar Kishinchand, who will return to the Philadelphia Water Department as commissioner.Jerry Langdon will join El Paso Corp. as president of its El Paso Gas Texas Pipeline L.P. subsidiary.
