The project slated for South Dakota would produce power within the territory of the East River Electric Power Cooperative, and the Dakota Energy Cooperative.Developer FPL Energy now operates 26 wind farms in nine states. Basin Electric members and owners produce power for 1.7 million customers across 124 rural electric systems in Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
