LCG, January 15, 2026--Origis Energy today announced that Meta and the company signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 240-MW (303-MWdc) Greyhound A Solar project in West Odessa, Texas. The Greyhound A Solar project is scheduled to achieve commercial operations by mid-2026.

LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

Head of Trading at El Paso Steps Down
LCG, Jan. 3, 2002--The head of El Paso Corp.'s energy trading business has left the company, after having led its power, petroleum, trading and production operations.The company previously announced two months ago that it would end its trading because of a lack of confidence from consumers and investors brought on by relevations of Enron's accounting practices. The departure of Ralph Eads, the president of the merchant energy group, comes as the company is selling assets to improve its credit rating and reduce debt.
