LCG, October 16, 2026--The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) announced on Thursday its new proposal to revise and accelerate its review of air quality effects for proposed natural gas projects under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The draft policy statement highlights revisions designed to (i) avoid unnecessary delays and duplicative analysis and (ii) deliver greater regulatory certainty and a streamlined path forward for project applicants.

LCG, October 14, 2026--American Electric Power (AEP) today announced plans for a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google, under which AEP will invest approximately $4 billion to advance a new 702-MW fuel cell generation project located near Cheyenne, Wyoming. Google will acquire power from Cheyenne Fuel Cell, LLC, which is approximately 92 percent owned and controlled by AEP and 8 percent owned by funds advised by Basalt Infrastructure Partners, LLP. AEP and its partners plan to start construction this year and to be fully operational by the end of 2028.

PGE Completes Phase II of Biglow Canyon Wind Project
LCG, August 24, 2009--Portland General Electric Company (PGE) announced Friday that Phase II of the Biglow Canyon Wind Farm is complete, adding 150 MW of new wind power available for delivery to the grid. The wind farm is located in Sherman County, Oregon.
Phase II includes 65 new wind turbines, manufactured and installed by Siemens Energy, that each have an electric generating capacity of 2.3 MW.
Phase I of Biglow Canyon Wind Farm was completed at the end of 2007 and included 76 turbines, with an installed capacity of 125 MW of electricity. The total capacity of Biglow Canyon Wind Farm is now 275 MW.
There is a third phase planned, which will add 76 more turbines and increase the installed capacity to 450 MW. Phase III is scheduled for commercial operation in 2010.
Biglow Canyon Wind Farm was developed by Orion Energy LLC, and PGE constructed the project. PGE will also own and operate the facilities.
