LCG, August 27, 2025--Wärtsilä Energy announced yesterday an agreement with East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to supply the engineering and equipment for a 217-MW power plant to be constructed in Liberty, Kentucky. The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery in mid-2027, and the plant is expected to be commissioned in early 2028.

The MOU establishes a shared commitment to support advanced nuclear technologies to build Utah’s energy future and to prioritize reliability, economic growth and energy abundance.

EDF Renewable Energy obtains groSolar!
LCG, May 5, 2016--EDF Renewable Energy has announced that it purchased groSolar on April 29. Global Resources Options, Inc., or groSolar, is a privately-owned engineering, procurement, and construction company with offices in Maryland and Vermont.
“The company brings to EDF RE the ability to offer competitively priced distributed generation solar solutions to the growing Municipal, University, School and Hospital (MUSH), corporate, and utility customer base," stated Tristan Grimbert, CEO and President of EDF RE.
GroSolar has designed and constructed more than 110 MW of U.S. solar PV systems, according to its website.
EDF Renewable Energy, formerly enXco, is an independent power producer and a U.S. subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles. EDF Renewable Energy has nearly 350 MW of commercial and utility-scale solar in operation or construction.
