LCG, March 6, 2026--Entergy yesterday announced approximately $5 billion in total savings for 2.3 million customers in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi resulting from data center customer agreements in those states. Entergy, which completed its first data center customer agreement in 2024, projects the customer savings over the next 20 years and after the regulatory approval or acknowledgement of the public service commissions in those states.

LCG, March 5, 2026--The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) announced yesterday that it has authorized the staff to issue TerraPower’s subsidiary, US SFR Owner, a construction permit for the company’s Kemmerer Power Station Unit 1 commercial nuclear power plant in Kemmerer, Wyoming.

China Energy Chief Gone Missing
LCG, October 22, 2002-China's State Power Corporation chief has been officially missing for several weeks amid allegations of corruption.Gao Yan, director of the State Power Corporation, may have gone to Australia to escape prosecution, some speculate.In a second and likely related mystery, Shenzhen Energy Group chairwoman Lao Derong disappeared last week.Some corruption experts contend that party leaders may be looking for officials to punish in order to take off some of the pressure from public outrage at widespread fraud.Plans for prosecution of Yan comes as several other high-ranking Chinese officials find themselves under scrutiny. This year China Central Television executive Zhao An, as well as a number of banking and finance executives and China Everbright executive Zhu Xiaohua have been prosecuted and in some cases imprisoned for improper business practices such as taking bribes.China's power chief was expected to resign this year after the country's deregulation began; China plans to split its State Power Company into a number of separate companies in an effort to create competition. Australian officials have so far been unable to verify whether or not Yan has entered their country.
